Summer at MAXXI returns with 15 unmissable summer events. Until July 25 the square of the contemporary art museum of Rome will host numerous evenings dedicated to art, architecture, music, cinema, books and fashion.
The event
The MAXXI summer program returns to enliven the Roman summer until July 25th with 15 evenings dedicated to music, cinema and architecture.
Among the events, there is the film festival created by the Cinema per Roma Foundation and MAXXI of Cinémaville. From 10th to 24th July it will be possible to attend the free screenings which will be held inside the MAXXI Auditorium starting from 9pm. There are four international films (some of which in the original language) scheduled, where the absolute protagonist will be architecture , featuring the most famous homes to appear on the big screen.
MAXXI – National Museum of XXI Century Arts
In 1998, an international competition was announced to create various museum structures dedicated to contemporary art within the Flaminio district of Rome. Among the 273 applications received from all over the world, the project by architect Zaha Hadid was chosen. This proposal demonstrated the ability to adapt the new structure into the urban fabric, through innovative architectural solutions.
The MAXXI was inaugurated in 2010 and is the first museum dedicated to architecture and contemporary art in Italy. The exhibitions hosted range from art to photography, from fashion to design, from cinema to theater.
In addition to the MAXXI collections which are exhibited in rotation together with the temporary exhibitions, there are permanent installations by Maurizio Mochetti, Sol Lewitt and Anish Kapoor.
