The 19th edition of the Rome Film Fest kicks off from the 16th to the 27th of October, this year dedicated to Marcello Mastroianni.
The event
Rome Film Fest returns from October 16 to 27. Now in its 19th edition, this year’s event is dedicated to Marcello Mastroianni. Italian actor appreciated internationally, with three Oscar nominations, winner of two Golden Globes as well as numerous awards around the world.
To celebrate his great career, the program includes numerous initiatives, such as an in-depth retrospective of films (even some restored versions) by directors like Federico Fellini, Vittorio De Sica and Ettore Scola, biographical documentaries and works by the actor himself. There are also exhibitions set up at Auditorium Parco della Musica and Casa del Cinema and a meeting with the actor’s daughter Chiara Mastroianni.
Alongside the International Competition – Progressive Cinema – Visioni per il mondo di domani, the festival includes non-competitive sections, like Grand Public, dedicated to films for the general public; Best of 2024, with the best films from other international festivals and Storia del Cinema, with insights into the works of the great masters of Italian and international cinema.
The main location will be the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, where one of the largest red carpets in the world takes place. Several places in the city will be involved, including MAXXI museum, Casa del Cinema and Leonardo da Vinci Airport, where two screenings are scheduled to be hosted in Terminal 5.
