Journeys through Ancient Rome – Caesar’s Forum

The appointment with Journeys in ancient Rome – Caesar’s Forum is back. Until September 22 you can participate in the multimedia trip to relive the history of the archaeological area in its most glorious years.

The event

Until September 22 it will be possible to attend the show Journeys through Ancient Rome – Caesar’s Forum. A multimedia trip into the past to discover the history of the Eternal City.

The route is accompanied by the narrative voice of Piero Angela, as well as films, videos and projections of the archaeological area in ancient Rome. There are 4 stages of approximately 50 minutes. The story is available in 8 languages: Italian, English, French, Russian, Spanish, German, Chinese and Japanese.

The journey begins with the excavations dating back to the years between 1924 and 1932 for the reconstruction of today’s Via dei Fori Imperiali. We then move on to the history of the remains of the Temple of Venus, whose construction was commissioned by Julius Caesar to celebrate the victory over Pompey. The viewer will be able to immerse themselves in the daily life of the time, when officials, matrons, soldiers, plebeians, consuls and senators strolled through the alleys of the forum. You will also be able to admire the ancient tabernae, i.e. the offices and shops that once populated the archaeological area.

Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar ordered the demolition of an entire neighborhood for the construction of the Forum. Next to it he had the Curia built, the seat of the Roman Senate: the building still exists and it is possible to observe the appearance it had at the time through the projections on its facade created through virtual reconstruction.
