The Caracalla Festival is back in Rome. Until August 10 there will be many events at the Baths of Caracalla dedicated to theater and concerts.
The festival
Among the usual events in Rome, the shows of the Caracalla Festival cannot be missed within the evocative setting of the Baths of Caracalla. Until August 10 Many evenings will be held including dance, cinema, music, opera and theater.
For the 100th anniversary of his death, the festival pays homage to Giacomo Puccini: Tosca and Turandot are the two operas on the programme. Furthermore, the great composer will also be honored on a cinematic level with the Piccolo Cinema Puccini festival which will take place at Teatro del Portico.
Unmissable are the concerts at the Baths of Caracalla by the protagonists of Italian and international pop music including Ornella Vanoni (June 6), Il Volo (June 8), John Legend ( June 10) and Antonello Venditti (June 18, 19 and 21).
There will also be space for animation with Fantasia Disney – Live in concert which will be held on July 23. It is a symphonic concert performed by the Rome Opera Orchestra, with images from the movies Fantasia and Fantasia 2000.
You can’t miss the ballet at the Baths of Caracalla. Two evenings are planned on July 9 and 10 with “Dior’s Roman Nights”, where Eleonora Abbagnato will wear Maria Grazia Chiuri’s creations made for the two ballets. Finally, the show Roberto Bolle & Friends will return on July 19 and 20.
The novelty of this season is contemporary circus: on June 24 and 25 the BlucinQue Company will perform with the show Puccini dance circus opera, for bodies and instruments
