Until November 30, 2025, the event Monumenti Sonori will take place at the Portico d’Ottavia. Six musical itineraries that tell some of the most evocative places in Rome.
The event
The musical event Monumenti Sonori will be at Portico d’Ottavia until November 30, 2025. An original story that reveals some of the most fascinating places in the city: six outdoor routes where music merges with history, art and architecture, giving voice to those “silent witnesses” who guard memories and lives past and present. Through sound, hidden details and evocative scenarios are revealed.
The artistic realization is signed by the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia with the support of the Centro Ricerche Musicali – CRM, which took care of the artistic and technical aspect related to the monuments.
This project debuts at the Portico d’Ottavia, where a sound landscape envelops visitors thanks to a system of speakers. Route is enriched by the presence of a “holophone”, a sound projector designed by CRM, which enhances the interaction between music and space. The experience is accessible for free every day, from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00 and includes famous musical pieces. Some examples are historical excerpts from Tosca by Giacomo Puccini and Roman Festivals by Ottorino Respighi. Love Theme by Andrea Morricone from Nuovo Cinema Paradiso and music by Ennio Morricone from the film Mission are included too.
In the coming months, the project will expand with five more stages in different areas of the city. Each monument will be equipped with a local system interconnected to a central digital platform, which will receive the musical content curated by the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
